DIRECTOR/CO-WRITER:George Woodard is no stranger to stage or screen. He is well known as the "dairy farmer from Vermont" ("America’s Heart and Soul," Buena Vista) who enjoys acting and performing. "The Summer of Walter Hacks" takes his thirty years of farm and theatrical/film experience and merges them in this highly original film. His filmography includes "Timechasers", also known as "Tangents," an Edgewood Studios/David Giancola film, "Ethan Frome" (Miramax Films) with Liam Neeson and Patricia Arquette, Anthony Hall's "Mud Season," and Nora Jacobson's "My Mothers Early Lovers" and "Nothing Like Dreaming." His television and video credits include "Rescue 911," and "Unsolved Mysteries.". George spent several years in Los Angeles honing his acting skills on stage and film until he was called home to look after his family's farm. While farming he made time to start up Woodchuck Theatre Company which created numerous productions in northern and central Vermont. Pasture Productions is the independent film offshoot of  WTC.

PRODUCER/CO-WRITER: Gerianne Smart is a full-time marketing, promotion and advertising professional who runs her company, Smart Communication, out of Ferrisburgh, Vermont. She is also the advertising director for Vermont Life magazine. Gerianne is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and, while in NYC, performed in many productions off-off (off!) Broadway as well as bit parts in industrials, print and in a (now defunct) soap opera, "Loving.". She moved to Vermont in 1991 and sought ways to begin acting again. In the process, she discovered an effort to restore the historic Opera House in Vergennes, Vermont and she became actively involved as the organization’s president, instrumental in the reopening of the once closed (for 24 years) theatre space that creates an anchor for a newly revitalized downtown in what, for years, was the "smallest city in the U.S."
